Acne is often looked upon as a
teenager’s problem. However several of us know that this is a
misconception. Acne attacks in adults, who have long outgrown
their teen years, are common. For some people the acne just
continues into adult years. For others there is a lull period
and then the acne attacks start afresh at a later stage.
It is very difficult to pinpoint the cause of adult acne. In
cases where it just doesn’t leave you after your teens, you
probably just have a tendency towards developing acne and should
concentrate on the best preventive care possible. Suitable care
taken will minimize the severity of acne even if it does not
succeed in rooting out the problem.
Always take adequate control measures as soon as the first signs
of acne are noticed. Whiteheads and blackheads are always the
precursors of more severe forms of acne. So control of these
whiteheads and blackheads will check the spread of the acne
causing bacteria and protect the skin from further
complications.
It has been seen that the use of inappropriate products often
cause adult acne. Acne products used for treatment of adult acne
should necessarily be marked noncomodegenic. The use of
cosmetics during exercise should be minimized. This is because
the presence of cosmetics can clog pores, trap sweat and make
the conditions ideal for acne to develop.
High levels of stress have also been known to lead to adult acne
outbreaks. Hence, a healthy lifestyle, a good skin care regimen
and use of suitable skin care products will ensure that adult
acne outbreaks are minimized.
Maintaining a high level of hygiene can also help minimize adult
acne outbreaks. Adult acne can affect areas other than the face
like the back, the chest and any other part which is exposed to
the bacteria. Keeping yourself sweat free will minimize risk of
adult acne outbreaks.
